My name is Debbie Yeasted . I am currently the 6th grade counselor at CLMS. My undergraduate degree is a BA in Sociology from Susquehanna University. My graduate degree is a MA in Guidance and Counseling from Western New Mexico University. I began my guidance career in New Mexico and spent the first four years counseling Navajo students, on the Navajo Reservation in grades k-6. I then moved back to Florida where I continued with my career and spent the first two years at Waterford Elementary School, one year at Discovery Middle School and finally my last 19 years at Corner Lake Middle School. My hobbies include; watching football, listening to music, kayaking, swimming, hiking, biking, and travelling. I am a # 1 Pittsburgh Steeler Fan. I bleed Black and Gold! I have a four legged “baby girl” and her name is Hurley. Love this dog more than anything. And finally, I just love spending time with my family and friends!

My name is Kathrina Brubaker-Cann, and I am the current 7th grade counselor. I graduated from Florida Southern College with Bachelor’s degrees in Music Education and Psychology, then went on to get Master’s degrees from the University of Central Florida in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling. I started my first job as a guidance counselor here at Corner Lake Middle school last year, so this is my second year in guidance. In my spare time, I enjoy playing with my “baby” (an African grey parrot named Lolita), biking, and spending time with my husband, family and friends!

My name is Christine Markley and I am the current 8th grade counselor. I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Family, Child and Consumer Sciences. After teaching Preschool in Princeton, New Jersey, I decided to go back to school to become a school counselor. I graduated from the University of Florida with a Master’s and Specialist in School Counseling and Guidance.  This is my eleventh year being a counselor and fifth in the middle school setting. Some of my favorite things to do include camping, going to the beach, paddle boarding, bike riding, and spending time with my family.

Grade to Grade Promotion Requirements for Middle School

To meet regular grade to grade promotion requirements, students must successfully pass the equivalent of four full-year courses, three of which must be from the areas of English/language arts, mathematics, science and social studies.

 Failed courses must be recovered before exiting middle school. See the school counselor about course recovery options.

Promotion to High School

To be promoted from eighth grade involves the successful completion of three years of English, math, science and social studies. Failed courses must be recovered before exiting middle school. See the school counselor about course recovery options.
