To help us maintain a focused and safe learning environment, we are asking families to please talk with their children about leaving stuffed animals, toys, and plush keychains or accessories at home. These items have become a growing distraction during the school day, and we are also seeing an increase in unsafe behaviors such as students running, grabbing, or attempting to snatch items from one another’s backpacks.
Keeping these belongings at home helps us ensure that all students can learn, move through campus safely, and stay focused throughout the day.
Thank you for partnering with us to support a positive school environment where every student can soar!

While we always love spreading kindness and positivity around the Lake, we want to ensure the day remains focused on learning and free from unnecessary distractions. Please remember that students are not allowed to receive deliveries of any kind at school, including food, flowers, balloons, candy, or gifts.
Large or extravagant items such as stuffed animals, bouquets, balloons, and gift baskets are not permitted on campus. Although thoughtful, these gestures can create disruptions in the classroom and may lead to unintended social or disciplinary issues among students. To help us maintain a positive and safe learning environment, we kindly ask families to partner with us in keeping Valentine’s Day special without bringing material items to school.
Any deliveries or items listed above will be held in the main office until dismissal.
Thank you for your support in helping our Eagles enjoy a wonderful, distraction‑free Valentine’s Day.

Our Corner Lake Clothes Closet is currently in need of donations, and we would greatly appreciate the support of our families. We are specifically looking for new underwear for boys and girls—with a higher need for girls’ sizes. All sizes are welcome!
If you are able to contribute, your generosity will directly support students in our school community. Thank you for helping us keep our Eagles cared for and confident.

This year we welcomed two incredible additions to our Eagle family — Dr. Pierre and Ms. Howell — and we truly could not be more grateful. Although they’re new to our school, their impact has been immediate and meaningful. Their dedication, compassion, and unwavering support for our students shine through in everything they do.
From helping our Eagles navigate big feelings to celebrating their successes, they show up every day with patience, encouragement, and a genuine commitment to our kids. We are so thankful for the safe spaces they create, the guidance they provide, and the positivity they bring to our campus.
Our Eagles are better because of you. Our school is stronger because of you. And we appreciate you more than words can express.
Thank you, Dr. Pierre and Ms. Howell — you are truly a gift to our community

In Mr. Judah’s math class, students explored compound shapes and how to find their area by breaking each figure into smaller, familiar parts. After practicing the strategy, students took a creative turn—designing their own compound shapes and rotating them around the room for classmates to solve. This hands‑on activity challenged students to think critically, collaborate, and apply their understanding in a fun, engaging way.

In Mrs. Hurtado’s 5th‑period 8th‑grade ELA class, students jumped into a lively test review using Lumio, an interactive digital learning platform that turns lessons into hands‑on activities students can complete right from their devices.
Students worked through review questions, collaborated with classmates, and practiced key skills in a format that kept them engaged and thinking. One highlight of the day was their work with the four archetypes—and if you’re not sure what they are, just ask your 8th grader. They definitely know them now!
